La finalidad del concurso es difundir el uso de la BICICLETA como medio de transporte en nuestra ciudad, dando a conocer sus ventajas como vehículo respetuoso con el medio ambiente, saludable, democrático y moderno. Las fotografías deberán ser hechas en la ciudad de Donostia-San Sebastián.

The Basque Youth Council (EGK) is a public entity created under the law 6/1986 passed in the Basque Parliament on the 27th of May. It is established as a youth associations platform which works on behalf of the young people?s rights.

These are some of the most important aims of EGK:

• To improve basque young people?s (14-30 years old) living conditions, specially of those who live in an exclusion situation, and to guarantee their rights as citizens.
• To guarantee that the young people have enough facilities and conditions to develope their initiatives, promove their own life projects at a democratic framework and participate, individually and collectivelly, in the construction of the society as development agents. A viable, joint and fair development.
• Favour the socialization process of the youth through the improvement of their living conditions, the guarantee of rights and effective resources to take part, and not only through the moral education. Only in these terms is possible to favour an active socialization, which implies both assuming the social context where one is raised and changing it.
• Promote the responsibility of the whole of the social agents and specially the public liability on the development of an appropiate Youth Policy and the services, specific or not, aimed at youg people in the context of a new social contract.

The Basque Youth Council - Euskadiko Gazteriaren Kontseilua is, itself, a joint responsibility and organized participation room for the young people living and acting social and politically in Euskadi. However it is not only for young people, but also for young associations and collectives, offering a clear direction to the change of the social reality.
